One of the most incredible and, at the same time, unknown places in Spain. This huge pink lagoon of 1,400 hectares is part of the Natural Park of Lagunas de la Mata and Torrevieja. This phenomenon of natural origin, unique in Spain, is produced by a bacterium that releases a pinkish pigment in waters with high concentration of salt. The months in which the pink water is better seen are August and September.

Peñon d’ Ifach Calpe

The 322-metre-tall symbol of the Calpe area offers a one-kilometre hiking trail through the natural park of Peñon d’Ifach. You can get to the summit either by a guide or by yourself. In the past, Peñon d’Ifach was used as a watchtower to guard against attacks from Berber pirates. Today the Peñon d’Ifach is a peaceful refuge for many plants and bird species along with a cherished destination for people coming from all around the world.

Natural park of the Serra Gelada
